• On 26 September 2023, the Secretary of State for Housing at MINHDU opened the housing village in the town of Garoua located at Roumde Adjia stadium. The day also marked the start of the round tables, which will certainly culminate in the Garoua Declaration next Monday. To kick-off this activity, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Célestine Ketcha-Courtès • spent more than two hours moderating a special round table on the theme: "Resilience of cities in the face of disasters". This was a timely opportunity to take stock of the threat to our cities, to review the existing legal, regulatory and technical framework for prevention in terms of urban planning and housing, and to identify sustainable solutions for strengthening urban resilience in the face of the intensification of extreme natural phenomena linked to climate change. During the discussions, MINHDU was assisted by several experts, including some close collaborators, the national observatory on climate change and UN-HABITAT by Claude Ngomsi from the ROAF. • The second item was "Implementing bioclimatic architecture in housing projects". Moderated by Emmanuel Mbailassoum, Architect at MAETUR, the numerous experts, discussed how to take account of our environment in housing projects.
