The “Webinar on Housing Needs of Indigenous Refugees” will present the pilot initiative “Warao Housing – Refuge with Dignity”, developed in Belém (PA) by the Pará State Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPPA), with the support of ACNUR, the International Institute of Education of Brazil (IEB), the Belém Municipal Housing Secretariat (SEHAB), the Pará Public Defender’s Office (DPE), and representatives of the Warao Indigenous refugee community. This initiative stands out as a good practice for integrating adequate housing policies with a rights-based and culturally sensitive approach for Indigenous refugees in urban contexts. The webinar aims to share experiences, challenges, and opportunities related to the implementation of the initiative, highlighting good practices for integrating adequate housing policies into a culturally sensitive and rights-based framework.
