This event seeks to foster an international dialogue on the climate challenges faced in urban territories. Through the collaboration of InREDE (Brazilian Network of Planning Institutes), FNAU (Fédération Nationale des Agences d’Urbanisme – France), AMIMP (Mexican Association of Municipal Planning Institutes), and MTPA (Metropolitan and Territorial Planning Agencies), diverse strategies for addressing the climate crisis will be shared, with a focus on preparations for COP30 in Belém, Pará.
The program highlights concrete experiences of climate adaptation and mitigation developed in different territorial contexts—considering the diversity of biomes, planning scales, technical instruments, and institutional arrangements. The event aims to strengthen the multi-level role of planning institutes and consolidate their contribution to a more integrated and just urban climate agenda, with an emphasis on the role of networks and international cooperation.
Falling under the thematic track “Climate Action and the Urban Environment,” the event seeks to generate inputs and connections for collective engagement during COP30, valuing the exchange between countries and institutions committed to urban sustainability.
