The event offers a practical reflection on how data, innovation, and the solidarity economy can strengthen cities to be more inclusive, smart, and sustainable. The focus will be on demonstrating how the collaboration between universities, public authorities, and social entrepreneurs generates innovative solutions to reduce inequalities and expand economic opportunities. The seminar will feature jurist Maria Helena Diniz and bring together representatives from the Incubadora Solidária [Solidarity Incubator] (INSOL/UNIMAR), incubated entrepreneurs — highlighting the Doce Futuro and Usina Sola UNIMAR projects — and the board of the Marília Economic Development Council (CODEM). This diversity of participants will allow for an integrated analysis of the role of social and technological innovation in creating sustainable alternatives for local development. The approach will be participatory and interdisciplinary, emphasizing dialogue between academia, the public sector, and civil society. By showcasing concrete experiences of productive inclusion and solidarity-based innovation, the event aims to inspire new practices and strengthen policies that promote social justice, energy transition, and resilient cities.
