UN & EU Dialogue on Sustainable Urban Development

The event is organized to celebrate award of UN-Habitat’s Scroll of Honour to the URBAN Intergroup of the European Parliament. The contents of this event follow up on the results of two milestone events: - UN EU High Level Retreat in July 2022; which reconfirmed alignment of EU and UN values and goals, and agreed on further joint work to coordinate action at strategic, regional and country level; - High-Level meeting at the UN General Assembly in April 2022, which reviewed the progress of implementing the New Urban Agenda, and where EU announced new Voluntary Commitments. The objective of this event is initiate a strategic dialogue of the UN and EU on sustainable urban development. The results of such Dialogue would feed into the deliberations and decisions of the UN-Habitat Assembly in June 2023.
