The event is part of the Seminar Local public policies by and for women: advances and challenges, which aims to reflect on: i. the occupation of women in public management, influencing the formulation of local policies; ii. the formulation of public policies specifically focused on women and the mainstreaming of the gender issue in local public policies. This event, held symbolically on 31 October, World Cities Day, is extremely important for problematising the absence of women in leadership positions in sub-national public management and the urgent need to mainstream gender policies in urban public policies in general (SDG 5 and SDG 11). It is hoped that the exchange between the guests and their different perceptions on the subject (from academia, public administration and civil society) will help to raise the profile of the issue, strengthening cross-sector partnerships (SDG 17).
