This event will bring together mayors, municipal managers, specialists, and institutional partners to discuss pathways for building sustainable, resilient Amazonian cities that lead in climate action. The activity is part of the preparations for COP30 and directly responds to the conference presidency’s call for a “collective effort” among civil society, governments, and the private sector.
Through concrete experiences, the event will highlight the central role of cities in the Legal Amazon in promoting integrated urban solutions, viewed through the lens of climate justice and multi-level governance, while also showcasing the advances of the DUSA Coalition and the Amazonian Cities Commission (CCA).
Objectives: (1) Strengthen the leadership of Amazonian cities in climate and urban agendas. (2) Present local policies and practices that contribute to urban resilience and environmental protection. (3) Connect local governments to COP30’s collective effort, in the spirit of the presidency’s colletive effor call. (4) Promote knowledge sharing and coordination among Amazonian municipalities and strategic partners
