Habitat for Humanity Uganda is organizing the "Silent Walls" exhibition, as a creative initiative highlighting photographs and personal narratives documenting the housing conditions in informal settlements. This is part of the global #HomeEquals Campaign addressing adequate housing for residents of informal settlements. The Campaign brings together policy makers, key housing sector experts and civil society to deliberate on adequate housing, essential basic services and land tenure security. This exhibition will feature stories shared by community members, offering a powerful visual representation of the urgent need for adequate housing. Each of the 30 images will be run on Habitat for Humanity Uganda and partner social media handles, each single day of the Urban October month. Based on this year's theme "Adequate Housing for All", the exhibition uses the images to depict actual situation and the plight for adequate housing for residents within informal settlements. "Silent Walls" tells the dire need of adequate housing without saying anything. Participants looking at the images generate their own observations and need for action.
