Shrine-Cities: Weaving Networks for a Just and Sustainable Future

Theme: The central theme of this event is the paradigm of “Shrine-Cities”, envisioning an urban future where intangible cultural heritage, social cohesion, and the sacred relationship with the land are recognized as the most valuable assets for development. Focus: The main focus is the official launch of the Voz do Terreiro Movement and the presentation of its innovative methodology. We will introduce to society the “Thesis of the Regenerative Ancestral Economy”, which positions culture as the driving force of the local economy, and the “Voz do Terreiro Map”, our digital platform designed to connect and amplify these assets. The objective is to move beyond diagnosis and catalyze the foundation of the Rede Cidades-Terreiro [Shrine-Cities Network], a collaborative pact for action. Format: In a dynamic and impactful 3-hour program, the event combines high-level dialogue with a keynote presentation. The schedule unfolds in three acts: a powerful diagnosis through a roundtable dialogue with authorities and civil society leaders; the presentation of the Voz do Terreiro solution; and a final act of collective commitment and celebration. Approach: Our approach is one of co-creation and community leadership. The event overturns the traditional development logic of seeking external solutions, instead proposing a deep dive into the strengths already rooted in the “common ground” of each territory.
