InREDE – the Brazilian Network of Planning Institutes – together with its member municipalities and partners, is organizing this event in celebration of World Habitat Day 2025, reaffirming housing as a fundamental right and a cornerstone of socio-spatial justice.
The event will bring together housing experiences developed across different biomes and regions of Brazil, with the participation of cities from the Amazon, the Semi-Arid region, the Cerrado, the Atlantic Forest, and the coast. Discussions will focus on local solutions that connect housing, social inclusion, and territorial resilience, emphasizing policies for upgrading informal settlements, promoting dignified permanence, and developing housing adapted to environmental and cultural contexts.
Architects and urban planners engaged in enhancing favelas and popular territories will also take part, presenting interventions that strengthen community bonds and the right to the city.
Under the thematic line “Adequate housing at the center of urban planning,” the initiative aligns with the theme of Urban Circuit 2025 by promoting concrete pathways to address housing inequalities and advance sustainable and inclusive solutions grounded in the diversity of Brazilian territories.
