LECTURE SERIES – REFUGEES AND THE CLIMATE CRISIS The program explores the relationship between climate change and the growing phenomenon of forced human displacement caused by extreme weather events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, and wildfires driven by rising temperatures. These events compel individuals to leave their homes, cities, and even countries in search of safety and stability. Methodology: The event combines lectures, workshops, and a proposal of good practices by participants throughout the program, culminating in a final compilation of actions. The theme is designed in response to the increasing frequency of extreme climate events and their impact on forced human displacement. It aligns with the Urban Circuit’s vision of imagining possible futures—building a set of good practices for sustainable development and for reducing urban and environmental inequalities. Key Topics: CLIMATE CRISIS · REFUGE · CLIMATE JUSTICE · ENVIRONMENTAL RACISM
