PPGSSA Panels: Challenges of tourist activity in Ouro Preto

The PPGSSA Panel is an extension initiative of the Postgraduate Programme in Environmental Socioeconomic Sustainability (PPGSSA) at Federal University of Ouro Preto, aimed at contributing to the sustainable development and resilience of communities through presentations and discussions of research findings from the programme. Therefore, the initiative aims to take the knowledge built through research beyond the academic environment. The panel in question will explore the theme of ‘Socioeconomic and Environmental Sustainability: Challenges and Impacts of Tourism in Ouro Preto’. It will bring together a collection of studies conducted by various researchers, all aimed at examining the impacts, challenges, and opportunities associated with tourism activities in Ouro Preto. The research will place emphasis on Conservation Units, as these areas are especially sensitive to the environmental impacts of tourism.
