As part of the collaboration between the Vice-Ministry for Strategic Planning of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha and UN-Habitat, an Expert Group Meeting will be held on 26 and 27 October to address strategic planning focused on the relationships between urban and rural areas, particularly in territories facing depopulation-related challenges. The two-day event will take place at the headquarters of the Menéndez Pelayo International University in Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, and will bring together participants from across Europe, Spain and Castilla-La Mancha. Under the title PLANNING URBAN–RURAL TERRITORIES: TOOLS FOR ADDRESSING TERRITORIAL EQUITY, representatives of global and European institutions, regional and local governments, academia, civil society and the private sector will gather to discuss innovation in planning frameworks, policies and programmes aimed at developing more integrated, sustainable and resilient territories, particularly in contexts facing depopulation-related challenges.
