EVENT CONCEPT: In celebration of World Cities Day 2025 theme, “People-centered Smart Cities,” the Punjab Affordable Housing Program (PAHP) is hosting a high-level Stakeholder Conference for Sialkot, Punjab. This event represents a crucial milestone in PAHP’s mission to co-create affordable housing solutions through participatory, inclusive, and multidisciplinary approaches.
As our affordable housing sites move toward implementation, we aim to bring together key actors — from the private sector, developers, contractors, investors, architects, and planners — to gauge their expressions and interests for collectively shaping the future of smart, inclusive neighborhoods in Punjab.
OBJECTIVES: • To foster collaboration between government, developers, and design professionals. • To introduce participatory planning approaches in upcoming affordable housing sites. • To encourage integrated thinking across disciplines — moving away from sectoral silos toward people-centered design. • To align local action with global priorities, particularly the UN-Habitat vision for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES: • A shared vision/EoI document outlining priority features of people-centered smart neighborhood in Sialkot. • A stakeholders engagement roadmap to guide further participatory design activities during implementation. • Strengthened institutional and professional partnerships to scale affordable, inclusive, and climate-responsive housing across Punjab. • Contribution to the global Urban October conversation — showcasing Pakistan’s efforts to localize the people-centered smart cities agenda.
