NYBG’s 22nd Annual Landscape Design Portfolios Lecture Series: Walter Hood: Landscape and Community

As founder and creative director of Hood Design Studio in Oakland, CA, Walter Hood creates spaces that enrich the lives of current residents while also honoring communal histories and challenging the legacy of neglect of urban neighborhoods. He will present his gripping design for the memorial garden within Charleston’s International African American Museum – the site at which nearly 40% of enslaved Africans arrived in this country.
