The Saudi Urban October 2026 panel discussions will bring together policymakers, academics, practitioners and development partners to explore key questions shaping the future of Saudi cities. Taking place in Riyadh on 27 October 2026, the activity forms part of the Saudi Urban October programme, held under the patronage of the Minister of Municipalities and Housing. Four thematic panels will address Housing and Future Communities; Urban Governance and City Management; Land Governance and Urban Transformation; and Livability, Complete Neighbourhoods and Quality of Life. Discussions will examine how planning, housing, land management and institutional collaboration can respond to urban challenges while improving everyday life for residents. The panels will provide a platform to exchange experiences, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities for more integrated, inclusive and evidence-based urban development. They will connect national priorities with practical perspectives from across the urban ecosystem, encouraging dialogue between institutions, disciplines and sectors. The programme will also launch the Saudi Urban Lab, being established under MoMaH in partnership with KSU, with support from UN-Habitat and UNDP through the MoMaHxUN partnership. By bringing urban stakeholders into a shared conversation, the activity will help shape the Lab’s future agenda and strengthen partnerships for urban innovation and sustainable development.
