UN-Habitat will provide a briefing for 24 students and one teacher participating in a Global Scholars social studies elective course focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The session will explore SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), highlighting their relevance to sustainable urban development, inclusive communities, effective governance, and peacebuilding. The briefing will introduce students to the work of the United Nations in advancing these goals and provide an opportunity to engage with global challenges and international cooperation. The visit forms part of the school's ongoing engagement with United Nations Headquarters and supports students' learning ahead of their planned educational trip to The Hague, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen in spring 2027.
