The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and UN-Habitat will mark World Cities Day 2026 with the Tanzania Urban Partnership Forum in Dar es Salaam under the theme “Regenerating the City: Adequate Housing for All.” The Forum will bring together government and local authority representatives, development partners, financial institutions, the private sector, academia, civil society, youth and communities to move the Urban October dialogue from awareness to practical commitments and partnerships. Discussions will highlight opportunities in inclusive housing and land readjustment, circular economy and investable waste systems, and low-carbon mobility and climate-resilient urban services. The programme will include solution presentations and a structured partnership roundtable, while highlighting youth and community contributions to inclusive urban regeneration. The Forum will provide a platform for identifying practical policy, technical and financing follow-up actions and strengthening the Tanzania–UN-Habitat partnership in support of sustainable urban development and Tanzania’s long-term development ambitions.
