The III National Congress on Healthy Architecture is a reference event bringing together public administrations, professionals, companies, universities and experts to share knowledge on transforming the built environment from a health perspective. This edition focuses on building renovation, urban regeneration and healthy housing as key tools to improve people's well-being and quality of life. In Spain, according to the National Building Renovation Plan (PNRE) 2026, 49.3% of the housing stock predates 1980 and 89.1% was built before the 2006 Technical Building Code, revealing major gaps in health, accessibility, environmental comfort and energy efficiency. These isssues are particularly affecting older people, children and other vulnerable groups. Our Congress will explore how renovation and urban regeneration can transform neighborhoods, recover public space, expand green infrastructure and strengthen climate resilience, in line with Spain's Architecture Quality Law, the PNRE and the New European Bauhaus principles.
