The event “From Waste to Inclusion: 3D Printing to Reduce Inequalities” will present, in a recorded and educational format, the process of creating an assistive technology made from recycled PET bottles using 3D printing. The production is led by the Lumina Project team from Enactus UFRJ, which develops accessible solutions for people with motor disabilities, promoting social inclusion through innovation and sustainability. The video will showcase the entire process, from collecting recyclable plastic to printing a functional prosthetic prototype, including technical explanations and testimonials from beneficiaries. The initiative aligns with the need for public policies that foster social, economic, and environmental inclusion, reduce urban segregation, and expand access to basic rights such as health, mobility, and autonomy for people with disabilities. This approach emphasizes that accessible technology and waste reuse are effective ways to reduce urban inequalities and contribute to building fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable cities, in line with the Urban Circuit 2025 theme.
