In a fictitious UN climate summit, you will act as a delegate representing nations and interest groups, challenged to reach a global agreement to limit warming to 1.5°C, as established in the Paris Agreement. The simulation comes to life through EN-ROADS, a tool used by real-world negotiators (MIT/Climate Interactive) that calculates in real time the impact of your decisions on the global climate. This session will place a special focus on linking global actions to their local consequences for Porto Alegre, discussing risks such as the rising levels of the Guaíba River and the ocean, flooding, and other urban impacts.
