LA ESQUINA AND THE CITY +2°C PROGRAM The City +2°C Program is based on the recognition that global warming—already underway—poses urgent and interconnected challenges for Brazilian cities. Grounded in scientific evidence and a logic of practical action, the program operates through four main fronts: climate risk assessment, urban design and nature-based solutions, technological innovation and financing, and participatory governance. Its goal is to translate technical knowledge into concrete decisions, connecting the public sector, private initiative, academia, and local communities. “La Esquina”, an Insper initiative launched in 2024, proposes a series of temporary tactical interventions that encourage the use and reappropriation of spaces—especially public ones—turning the school into a living hub of urban innovation, in open dialogue with the neighborhood and the city. In “La Esquina: Cities +2°C,” a tactical-pedagogical installation will take over Rua Quatá, 300 (São Paulo) to spark debate on extreme heat and urban resilience. Visitors’ perceptions will be collected and incorporated into a summary report containing insights and implementation pathways for the surrounding area.
