The event “Inequalities and Pathways to a Just, Inclusive, and Sustainable City” is part of the thematic line Reduction of Urban Inequalities and will be held in a roundtable format. The discussion will address urban inequality in Brazil as a historical legacy and examine exclusion in cities that have grown without planning. Issues such as precarious housing, lack of sanitation, unnamed streets, and absence of postal codes will be discussed, as they reveal deep social invisibility. Urban Land Regularization (Reurb) will be presented as a tool for social justice — not only as a technical response but also as an instrument for community dialogue and coordination with housing, mobility, environmental, and economic development policies. The Reurb’Delas Institute will share its perspective on Reurb’s key role, demonstrating how it can transform urban spaces and promote more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient cities through community participation and respect for local characteristics.
