Os palestrantes vão abordar questões relativas aos efeitos climáticos no ambiente urbano, a partir de estudos, pesquisas e práticas de melhorias contextualizadas com a crise ambiental. The Urban Circuit is an initiative of UN-Habitat Brazil that seeks to provide visibility and institutional support to events promoting fairer and more sustainable cities. Held annually since 2018, in October — the month dedicated by UN-Habitat to discussions on urban issues — the initiative aims to foster debate on the challenges and opportunities of urban development, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11, which focuses on inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities. The Minas Gerais Group of Urban Morphology, affiliated with the Graduate Program in Built Environment and Sustainable Heritage (PPG ACPS) of the School of Architecture at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (EA-UFMG), was selected under the theme Reduction of Urban Inequalities. The event seeks to discuss the contributions of Urban Morphology in the context of climate change, focusing on the effects resulting from the implementation of public policies in urban environments. As a research tool, Urban Morphology enables the identification of the intrinsic characteristics of the landscape and the assessment of environmental risks and vulnerabilities. This methodology supports the formulation of socially and spatially appropriate proposals that are resilient and sustainable. Speakers will address issues related to the impacts of climate phenomena on urban environments, drawing on studies, research, and practical interventions contextualized within the broader environmental crisis.
