This event places Adequate Housing at the center of urban planning, a crucial element for city resilience. We will present experiences from Civil Society Organizations and other entities, supported by the Council of Architecture and Urbanism (CAU) across various Brazilian states. The focus is on the implementation of housing improvements and Technical Assistance for Social Housing (ATHIS). The actions discussed are important for risk prevention and mitigation in vulnerable areas, protecting lives and property. The event will highlight the vital role of ATHIS and housing improvements in the recovery of areas affected by environmental disasters, promoting reconstruction and community resilience. Collaborative strategies that strengthen the right to safe and dignified housing will be explored, recognizing it as a pillar of quality of life and urban safety.
