Nature and Community: Local Action for Just and Sustainable Cities will take place in Nova Odessa on October 11, 2025, in an in-person format with live streaming to ensure democratic access. The event focuses on discussing the challenges and opportunities of climate action in urban spaces, through the integration of science, public authorities, and the community. The program includes an institutional opening and a thematic panel bringing together specialists from diverse fields—geography, sociology, pedagogy, environmental education, and public management—alongside the international participation of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine– based in São Paulo. This diversity ensures an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach, connecting local and global experiences. The meeting seeks not only to foster reflection but also to generate practical solutions: at the end, a collaborative document with recommendations will be produced to strengthen public policies and community sustainability initiatives. The proposal combines dialogue, civic education, and social engagement, reinforcing Nova Odessa’s role in building fairer, more resilient, and more sustainable cities.
