The event aims to broaden the dissemination and visibility of three Research, Teaching, and Extension projects focused on the creation and maintenance of Nature-based Solutions through technical-community training workshops, carried out in partnership between the National Secretariat of Peripheries of the Ministry of Cities and Federal Universities. The projects are at an advanced stage of development and already demonstrate significant results in community strengthening, reduction of geological-geotechnical risks, and housing sanitation. The program includes presentations of the three cases, followed by a debate among panelists, moderators, and the general audience. Each socio-territorial context will be presented, highlighting community involvement and how participatory processes have guided the actions carried out. The concrete results of the interventions, their adoption by local communities, and their contributions to inclusive adaptation of urban peripheries to climate change will also be showcased. Moreover, the diversity of socio-territorial and regional contexts among the selected cases will be emphasized.
