The webinar “Reforesta Maceió [Reforest Maceió]: Landscape and Environment as a DUI Strategy” will present one of the structuring programs of the Participatory Master Plan revision process in Maceió, highlighting environmental protection and landscape enhancement as tools for urban transformation and social inclusion. The Reforesta Program focuses on ecosystem conservation, sustainable land use in urban and rural areas, preservation of natural resources, environmental sanitation, and the valorization of natural and cultural heritage. The initiative seeks to promote a compact, sustainable, and integrated city, balancing social, environmental, and economic aspects of the territory. The webinar will be held online, broadcast live on the Urban Circuit YouTube channel, with a duration of up to three hours, including lectures and a Q&A session moderated by the Institute for Urban and Environmental Research, Planning, and Licensing (Iplam). As part of Urban Circuit 2025, the event addresses challenges such as environmental preservation, restoration of degraded areas, and territorial planning, engaging with the thematic line “Climate Action and Urban Environment” and contributing to fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable cities.
