Urban Justice: Pathways to Equity, Safety, and Sustainability This panel brings together four specialists with complementary backgrounds in public safety, social urbanism, and territorial management to discuss concrete solutions to the challenges of urban inequality. The conversation invites reflection on how integrated public policies can transform vulnerable territories into spaces of citizenship, inclusion, and sustainability — with a focus on advancing urban justice. The discussion features: - Juan Sebastián Bustamante Fernández, a specialist in territorial management and urban transformation, engaged in strategic projects in vulnerable communities and international collaboration across Latin America; - Laryssa Kruger, a specialist in social urbanism and poverty reduction, with academic and consulting experience in international contexts; - Ricardo Balestreri, a national reference in citizen security and social inclusion, creator of the Terpaz and Usipaz programs; - Tamires Oliveira, an architect and urban planner with experience in environmental management and civic participation. Drawing on their experiences, the panelists will explore how territorial initiatives can weave together safety, care, and belonging, fostering equity and sustainability in cities. The event invites the public to imagine fairer cities — where public policies are built with and for those who need them most.
