The workshop will begin by addressing the main conceptual and methodological aspects related to the identification and characterization of favelas and urban communities in the 2022 Population Census. In the second part, the results already released for these areas will be presented. The third part will demonstrate the available tools for accessing and effectively using the data, contributing to studies, diagnoses, and concrete actions aimed at reducing socio-spatial inequalities. The event will be held virtually and broadcast live, open to the general public—especially students, researchers, public administration professionals, representatives of social movements and organizations, community leaders, and anyone interested in better understanding urban dynamics and the importance of official data for designing more inclusive, effective, and territorially grounded public policies.
