For his pioneering use of simple technology and recycling electronic waste to create innovative energy solutions for marginalized communities and families, small business owners, and refugees.
Stanley is a young technical entrepreneur and co-founder of LightED, a start-up that recycles electrical and electronic waste to create innovative energy solutions. His innovations support urban and rural marginalised communities and families, small business owners and refugees. These solutions, on the one hand, help mitigate climate change and, on the other hand, offer equal access to clean and affordable energy, solar-powered lighting and charging.
“I want to scale up my project and provide coding, robotics, and technology training, thus solving the electricity poverty in Africa,” said Stanley Anigbogu when receiving his UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award in Balikesir.
Stanley also offers coding, robotics, and technology training for children and youth, especially girls. These are offered to children in rural areas, who then serve as ambassadors and educate their communities on the importance of investing in renewable energy.
