Carlos Fernando Galán is the Mayor of Bogotá, Colombia, elected for the 2024–2027 term. Born on June 4, 1977, in Bogotá, he is a political scientist and journalist, son of the late presidential candidate Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento.He studied at Georgetown University and holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbia University. Founder and leader of the Nuevo Liberalismo party, Galán has served as Senator of the Republic and Council Member of Bogotá, where he promoted transparency, anti-corruption policies, and urban development.

As mayor, his agenda focuses on security, mobility, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion, with a vision of making Bogotá a more equitable, efficient, and citizen-centered city.
