The Department of Architecture and Planning, NIT Calicut is marking the Urban October and beginning it with World Habitat Day. Celebrating this occasion, the department has organised a lecture by Prof Bharat Dahiya, Director, Research Center for Sustainable Development and Innovation, School of Global Studies, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand, and Extraordinary Professor, School of Public Leadership, Stellenbosch University, Western Cape, South Africa, who would share his experience and knowledge in working with projects worldwide. His experiences in working in United Nations funded projects and within varied environments and contexts (the Asian region), and engaging with multiple stakeholders, make him a treasure for planning and architecture students. His talk focuses on the disparities being addressed in this year's theme of Mind the Gap: Leave No One and Place Behind.
