The 9th Metropolitan Seminar on Environmental Education is a unique event of academic convergence and mobilization for environmental education professionals across different levels, stages, and forms of education. The seminar is jointly organized by the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment (SEMMA Pinhais), the Municipal Secretariat for Education of Pinhais (SEMED Pinhais), the Federal Institute of Education (IFPR – Pinhais Campus), and the Federal University of Technology of Paraná (UTFPR – Curitiba Campus). Its purpose is to ensure the successful realization of this edition, to be held in October in the municipality of Pinhais, located in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Environmental education is an essential tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to sustainability, the environment, and social justice. In 2025, the seminar will address the theme “The Future is the Seed of Now,” which invites reflection on what we are planting today. It calls attention to the importance of our actions and choices regarding the planet we live on, as they are the seeds sown into the soil of our shared future.
