Planning inclusive, safe and climate-resilient cities depends on reliable, accessible and shared information about the territory. Within the framework of World Cities Day and UN-Habitat's RISE UP programme, this public dialogue will explore the role of territorial data in urban planning and management, with a focus on disaster risk management and climate change adaptation. Panelists from public institutions, academia and civil society will discuss what information cities like Pasto currently produce, where the gaps are, and how data can be integrated into planning instruments to guide decisions on land use, housing, informal settlements and resilient neighbourhoods. The session is part of the Diálogos de Territorios series, organised by UN-Habitat together with the Banco de la República, Universidad de Nariño and Universidad CESMAG. The series offers an open space for citizens, officials, students and practitioners to reflect on the challenges of intermediate cities in southern Colombia. This edition will take place on Friday, 30 October 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sala Múltiple of the Banco de la República – Centro Cultural Pasto, Colombia, linking local experience with the global conversation of Urban October.
