Mayor of Katowice 

Born and raised in Katowice, Marcin Krupa combines an academic background in engineering with two decades of experience in local government. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the Silesian University of Technology, where he also pursued an academic career. 

His political career began in 2006 as a City Councillor, followed by his appointment as Deputy Mayor in 2010, overseeing urban development, transport and environmental policy. In 2014, he was elected Mayor of Katowice, a position he has held continuously ever since, guiding the city's ongoing transformation.
