Since 2017, UN-Habitat, in partnership with the Government of Alagoas, has been implementing the Visão Alagoas 2030 project, aimed at strengthening the state’s engagement in pursuit of sustainable and inclusive urban prosperity. The initiative seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the urban environment and to enhance public policies, plans, and actions. Among its various lines of work, the project has provided technical support for the implementation of the State Policy for Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies (PEMAPP). During the event, the Practical Guide for Public Policy Evaluation will be launched — a reference document designed to guide the assessment of public policies, programs, and projects, while promoting a culture of evaluation within public administration. The event’s purpose is to stimulate debate on practical pathways for building a continuous process of evidence-based decision-making — contributing to the improvement of public initiatives, the reduction of urban inequalities, and the promotion of fairer and more sustainable cities.
