Submit your event report for Urban October, World Habitat Day, and World Cities Day

Thank you for contributing to Urban October 2025. UN-Habitat wishes to highlight the diverse range of inspiring events held worldwide during this year’s Urban October and encourages event organizers to submit their report(s) for inclusion in UN-Habitat’s 2025 Urban October Report.

Below are instructions on how to submit your entry:

  • Access the UN-Habitat Global Event Management System (GEMS), innovative, user-friendly platform that offers a one-stop solution for attending events, managing applications, submitting reports, and much more.

  • If you have hosted an approved Urban October event linked to your account, please log in to your account.

  • Once on the home page, navigate to the left side menu and click on the “Applications” icon.

  • After clicking the Applications icon, you will be redirected to the Event Applications page, where you can view all your submitted events. For each approved event, a “Report Your Event” toggle button will be available; please click it to be redirected to the event reporting form. 

  • Please submit your entry in English into the pre-filled form, where possible, ensuring that all questions in the submission form are completed.

  • Report on what was the planned model for the event. (in-person, hybrid or virtual)

  • Provide the number of male and female attendees.

  • List the dignitaries present (e.g., leaders, ministers, mayors, etc., including their names).

  • Provide a description of the event, including its purpose, and key activities.

  • Share lessons learned from the event. 

  • Share the key findings from the event.

  • Share actions/recommendations that came out of the event.

  • Provide up to two quotes with the speaker(s)’ name and organization.

  • Upload up to high-quality photos (with captions and copyright details. Only jpg, jpeg and png are accepted.
