Future Cities Challenge

The Future Cities Challenge is a joint UN-Habitat and Fondation Botnar campaign which is all about children and young people (10-24 years) in cities. We invite young people and children to have conversations about their future cities and encourage them to be creative to express their wants and needs in cities.

The campaign has three components; the first component is an educational platform with a quiz, the second component focuses on championing youth voices and we will ask young people to submit a creative piece portraying their future city, and finally the closing of the challenge where we will encourage young people to effect change in their cities.

A panel of judges will contribute to the second component of the challenge in which they will evaluate a shortlist (maximum 40) of the submissions. The judges will use their expertise to score the submissions, discuss with the other judges and jointly decide on the winners who will be announced on World Cities Day.

The winners (5 individuals and 2 groups) will receive USD $ 1,000 in credit towards online education.
