Festival Buzios Circular - Recycling Workshop

Festival Búzios Circular is an environmental awareness initiative centered on the principles of the circular economy, showing how refusing, reducing, reusing, and recycling are pillars of a sustainable future. The event highlights the essential role of women, who lead creative reuse practices: they make up the majority in recycling cooperatives, transform waste into handicrafts, and fight food waste by ensuring full use of ingredients. The festival features recycling workshops, a sustainability fair showcasing local productions made from recyclable materials, and the Ecoart exhibition. The goal is to engage residents, students, and tourists in recognizing the value of recyclable solid waste. By valuing women’s work, it strengthens the local economy and demonstrates that the circular economy is a collective action — driven by those who turn waste into opportunity and preservation into legacy.
