Festival Buzios Circular-Environmental Films Festival

Festival Búzios Circular is an environmental awareness initiative centered on the circular economy, showing how refusing, reducing, reusing, and recycling are pillars of a sustainable future. The event highlights the essential role of women, who lead creative reuse practices: they make up the majority in recycling cooperatives, transform waste into handicrafts, and fight food waste by fully reusing ingredients. Recycling workshops, together with an Environmental Film Showcase and a fair of local productions made from recyclable materials, are part of the festival, which seeks to engage residents, students, and tourists in valuing recyclable solid waste. By recognizing women’s work, it strengthens the local economy and proves that the circular economy is a collective action—driven by those who turn waste into opportunity and preservation into legacy. The festival will take place on October 4, 5, 6, and 7, 2025, at Ferradura Square and INEF Square, in Búzios.
