The event aims to share the results, challenges, and impacts of the solid waste management public policy implemented in the municipality. Led by the City Hall and the Municipal Environment Secretariat, the initiative has become a reference by integrating urban sustainability, the socio-economic inclusion of waste pickers, and the strengthening of cooperatives. The activity will be conducted in three segments: - Exhibition of recyclables at the Green Room Serra Talhada Sustentável and screening of educational videos from the Circuito Tela Verde. - Institutional presentation of the public policy, including data on service coverage and environmental and social impacts. - Roundtable discussion with managers, civil society representatives, and members of the Recicla Serra Talhada cooperative. The format aims to bring the population closer to municipal environmental policies, highlighting how door-to-door selective collection contributes to social justice, the reduction of urban inequalities, and climate change adaptation. The event aligns with the theme of Urban Circuit 2025 – “Caring for Cities for People and the Planet”, demonstrating that environmental public policies can transform local realities, promoting more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive cities.
