In the framework of Urban October, the Bogotá District Secretariat of Habitat (SDHT) will deliver Guacamayas Park, in the San Cristóbal locality, on 17 October 2026. The park is part of the Comprehensive Revitalization Project around the San Cristóbal Cable Car, which received the UN-Habitat Shanghai Award. With an investment of nearly COP 800 billion, the project covers 31,000 m² of public facilities, 17,000 m² of public space and almost 48,000 m² of mobility corridors. It has also created more than 1,000 jobs and benefits more than 400,000 people. Guacamayas Park is a comprehensive intervention of 8,872.44 m². It provides the neighborhood with a multi-sport court, children's play areas, outdoor fitness equipment, lighting, green areas and landscaping, traffic calming, a viewpoint walkway, sidewalks, stairways, water and drainage networks, and signage. It restores a space the community had long awaited. Residents are at the heart of the event, which will feature: a collective tree-planting as a commitment to caring for the park; a children's futsal tournament; a local entrepreneurs' fair; an Ecofest; services from District agencies. The delivery of this park improves perceived safety, boosts the local economy, strengthens community leadership and extends adequate housing to the surroundings of every home.
