De Ficus a ficus - un paseo en memoria de Jane Jacobs

With this walk, three women from Cabañal want to show us, from the symmetrical shape of the butterfly, how they feel the public space. A space where one wing represents the devastation, recalling an intimate past, the body symbolises the beauty of the present built in Cabañal Horta and the other wing represents the future, fragile in the face of the threat of the PECC (Plan Especial Cabanyal-Canyamelar). UN-HABITAT has declared October as "action month", which aims to talk about the challenges and opportunities arising from the rapid change in our cities. With this starting point, the walk through the Cabañal neighbourhood follows the spirit of Jane Jacobs. It aims to encourage reflection on the current challenges of the neighbourhood, to understand them it is important to take a look at the past and also to consider the vision for the future. The walk will last about 90 minutes, with three stops to listen and share experiences, perspectives, etc. that will enrich us humanly.
