Conquista Mais Verde:Building Sustainable Cities with Trees

Format: A virtual event with live streaming in Portuguese via the StreamYard platform, broadcast on the Urban Circuit YouTube channel. Focus and Approach: This webinar aims to explore in depth both the historical and current challenges of urban afforestation in Vitória da Conquista, as well as to present viable and innovative solutions for its effective implementation and management. The proposal is aligned with the main theme of Urban October & Urban Circuit 2025 – “Pathways to Fairer and More Sustainable Cities” and with the thematic line “Climate Action and the Urban Environment.” It recognizes urban trees as an essential tool for climate change adaptation, the promotion of environmental justice, and improving quality of life in cities. Target Audience: Technical teams from the Municipal Secretariat of Environment and other municipal departments of Vitória da Conquista, high school and university students, and the local and regional community. Expected Participation: Around 200 people are expected to attend online throughout the live broadcast. Accessibility: The webinar will include live accessibility services with a professional Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) interpreter, ensuring that the event’s presentations are accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing participants.
