"This event aims to showcase the experience of the Curitiba Climate Network (RECC) regarding its relationship with the city of Curitiba and the communities most vulnerable to climate change. RECC is a movement that seeks to promote climate justice in the city of Curitiba, the capital of the state of Paraná in the southern region of Brazil, through environmental education, advocacy, and direct actions. Since 2020, the network has been dedicated to monitoring the municipal government's actions related to the city's adaptation to climate change and the reduction of social inequalities, which contribute to climate injustice. For this event, we intend to outline the activities already carried out by the network and emphasize the experience with the Vila Parolin community. We will delve into the stages of the climate change workshop and its outcomes, highlighting the collaborations formed with authorities and political figures. These collaborations aim to drive collective and effective solutions to address the vulnerabilities faced by the community."
