Climate of Cities is an event that seeks to mobilize and raise awareness among the people of Recife about the challenges and opportunities of the climate crisis in urban areas, with a special focus on the most vulnerable territories. The initiative aims to foster innovative and sustainable solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognizing that the climate agenda must also address the social, racial, and environmental inequalities that shape Brazilian cities. With an interdisciplinary approach, the event connects innovation, sustainability, and socio-environmental justice, promoting dialogue among experts, local collectives, community leaders, and public officials. In addition to the 17 consolidated SDGs, the program includes reflections on SDGs 18 (Ethnic-Racial Equality), 19 (Art, Culture, and Communication), and 20 (Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities)—still in the process of being implemented, but essential to building a truly inclusive urban agenda. Through roundtables and debates, Climate of Cities strengthens collective engagement in local action, highlighting the right to the city, environmental justice, and social participation as central pillars for creating more resilient, creative, and sustainable territories..
