BG Be Active partnered with the municipality of the Trakia region in Plovdiv, and the national Gardens and Parks services in an autumn park clean-up. More than 100 volunteers helped remove vegetation, overgrown weeds, and tree branches along the alleys of Lauta Park in Plovdiv. For the even specialised transport assisted with the removal of the dry green masses. On Saturday 2nd October, Lauta Park hosted the 'Shisheyad' or a plastic-bottle eating art installation, which not only has an awareness-raising role but was also used to collect all the plastic generated by participants and park visitors during the event, which was later returned for recycling. Volunteers conducted an information campaign and addressed the pressing issue of disposal of cigarette butts in public spaces, as part of which visitors receive a pocket ashtray and a paper bag to collect cigarette butts and other small waste items like wrappers, which often end up in the environment.
