Cities in Transition: Climate Solutions for a Sustainable Future

The event Cities in Transition – Climate Solutions for a Sustainable Future, organized by Universidade Iguaçul and integrated into the Urban Circuit 2025, focuses on discussing concrete solutions to the environmental challenges faced by cities in the Baixada Fluminense/RJ region. The event focuses on three key pillars of urban climate action: Mitigation of climate change and promotion of urban resilience; Water ressources management and strengthening of ecological corridors as strategies for environmental justice; Protection of urban springs to improve quality of life. The format is a dynamic panel discussion lasting up to three hours, including an institutional opening, participation of six invited speakers, and moderation by a facilitator. There will be opportunities for audience interaction through questions submitted via chat, followed by a final synthesis with practical recommendations and inspiring experiences. The approach will be both technical and inspiring, prioritizing the presentation of solutions that can be replicated and integrated into urban planning, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices that promote socio-environmental equity and climate justice.
