The event “Building Resilient Cities in Times of Climate Crisis” aims to discuss environmental challenges faced by cities in light of the worsening climate crisis, with emphasis on territorial and social inequalities.
The program brings together researchers and specialists to reflect on urban vulnerabilities, especially in peripheral areas, and on strategies to address them through an integrated perspective involving housing, infrastructure, water resource management, and socio-environmental justice.
The format includes an opening lecture and a multidisciplinary panel, followed by audience interaction, fostering dialogue between technical and social approaches.
The event focuses on building pathways to strengthen urban resilience, adaptive capacity, and climate justice by articulating academic production, management practices, and public policies. By exploring the relationship between urbanization, environmental crisis, and inequalities, the initiative seeks to broaden collective reflection on how to build more sustainable, inclusive cities that are better prepared to face the impacts of climate change, while also discussing the role of the State as a coordinating agent and promoter of public policies to address these challenges.
